It was a red letter day in the history of India
when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years
for us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this
festival every year with great pomp and show. The main Programme is celebrated
at the Red Fort in New Delhi. Besides, this festival is also celebrated in
every city and town, in school, college and university.
St. Xavier's High School, Deoghar also celebrated this day with a great patriotic fervour. The day began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon'ble Chairman, Sri Sanjeet Ray along with the Principal, Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar. Then each one present in the premises sang the National Anthem showing their love and gratitude to the motherland.
The programme began with the grand March Past. After this Hon'ble Chairman addressed the gathering and inspired them to be true citizens of India.
Then the crowd witnessed a plethora of activities ranging from song to dance to drama, etc.
The special attraction of the day was the presentation of the theme "Kal Aaj Aur Kal". Through this theme the students tried to show the glorious past of India, the time 4000 years ago when India was called "The Golden Bird". This was contrasted with the present scenario where the values are being lost, machines are killing human potential, family bonding is reducing, nature is being spoiled and people are becoming more and more self-centered.
Having presented the glorious past, and the thought-provoking present, students demonstrated the view of a bright tomorrow.
The Principal then delivered a speech and motivated everyone to be a true patriot and build such a nation which was dreamt of by our freedom fighters.
At the end all the teachers along with the chairman and principal concluded the programme by singing "Saare Jahan Se Acha".
