Inter-School Junior Athletics Meet, 2018

Students of St. Xavier's High School prove their mettle at District Level Athletics Meet

Students of St. Xavier's High School, Deoghar have once more brought laurels to the school by winning the championship at a one-day District Level Inter-School Athletics Championship-2018 held at K.K.N Stadium on 26/10/2018 organised by Deoghar District Athletics Association.

Among the various school which participated in the meet, St. Xavier's High School became the overall champions. The students won 8 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze medals.

Prerna Minz of class X also won the Best Athlete's trophy who participated in Long jump and 100 m race and grabbed gold medals in both the events.

It was indeed a moment to feel proud of for the entire school.

They were felicitated in the assembly by our hon'ble Principal Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar. He congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of both the teachers and the students and encouraged them to put in their best effort and bring more glory to the school.

The fun filled sports week of CBSE Cluster-III Kho-Kho Tournament, 2018 came to a conclusion on 05/10/18. The participants were at their best exhibiting the spirit of competition and enthusiasm. The team of Xaviers congratulates the winners and the participants both because these parts make a whole of success.
Sports events such as this are meant to showcase the collective talent of the youth rather than only recognizing winners. A winner exists because someone dared to stand up and lose. For a height there has to be depth.
Sports competitions fill us with enthusiasm which is a vital change in the cycle of routines. It inspires the participants and spectators both. They build physical stamina and teach us to take victories and defeats in our stride. Very important lessons of life are woven into these fights. A loser provides a winner a scale to measure his or her success.

A grand cultural feast was organized by the host school for the closing ceremony which included Saraswati Vandana, Puppet Show, Mime, Shiv Tandav, etc. The Chief Guest of the eve was Sri Birendra Charandwari ji, a renowned educationist and social worker of Deoghar district. He expressed his joy of witnessing such a gala feast and congratulated the teams for excellent display of sportsmanship.

The Special Guest was , Sri Markandey Jajware Ji, A well known painter and sculptor of the town. He also expressed his delight and emphasized the importance of sports in everyone's life.

After this trophies, medals and certificates were awarded to the winning teams by the Hon'ble Chief Guest and Special Guest.

The programme was made successful because of the dedicated efforts of the teachers and student volunteers of the host school. As a mark of recognition of their hardwork, the Secretary of the school, Sri Sanjeet Ray, and the Principal, Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar, awarded the teachers and student volunteers with A Certificate of Appreciation. Towards the end the CBSE Flag was ceremoniously folded and everyone sung the National Anthem.

From 3rd to 6th October, 2018

3rd October 2018, Wednesday. St. Xavier’s High School, Deoghar organized the Opening Ceremony of CBSE Cluster III Kho-KhoTournament 2018 in its premises. Municipal Commissioner Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, was the Chief Guest of the function. Renowned MLA of Deoghar, Shri Narayan Das was the guest of honour. DEO of Deoghar district, Shri Mohan Chand Mukhi & SDPO Shri Vishal Chandra were the special guests. Among other guests were principals of different schools. CBSE Observer Mr. Abhir Kumar Pandey was also present in the function. More than 43 teams from Bihar & Jharkhand have come to participate in the Cluster. Esteemed Secretary, Shri Sanjeet Ray presided the function. All the distinguished guests were welcomed with bouquets. The principal Dr. N. Santhosh Kumar extended a formal welcome to all the guests.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp by the auspicious hands of the Chief Guest who also hoisted the CBSE flag and inaugurated the function. After that march past was held by all the teams with their school flags. Oath ceremony was administered by the Chief Guest of the programme.
Students of SXHS had also presented various cultural programmes like the Ganesh Vandana, Kathak, Jharkhand Folk dance, pyramid, mass drill, etc.. Everyone admired and praised the performances of the students. In his speech, the esteemed Chief Guest congratulated SXHS for hosting such a grand event and gave his best wishes to all the players and their coaches.Guest of honour, Shri Narayan Das ji also appreciated the efforts of the school in organizing such a mega event and encouraged all the participants to give their best. The principal and Secretary of the school presented mementos and gifts to the eminent guests as a token of love from the school’s side. The matches for both Boys’ & Girls’ teams started in which teams displayed excellent sportsmanship.
